in the book store,
crisp blue
dress shirt
and tie,
appropriate shoes
and slacks,
makes good use
of the morning
reading an Elvis
Presley book
he hasn’t paid for.
I can see it has
color photos from
where I sit,
he is deeply engaged,
brow slightly pinched
in concentration,
as he slowly flips
to the next photo
of the King.
