white-nosed, over-weight patriots
pay homage with lawn bowling
and volley ball,
bare-topped, sun-screened,
flag-draped citizens celebrate
while trash dumpsters burn,
lines forming for fountains
and urinals,
sidewalks crowded with
skateboards, baby strollers
and bicycles. America,
