2013/baubles

I really don’t want
the baubles you might
bring home, smelling
of places I will never see
especially not others’
dieties.
I only wanted the things
I have always sought,
to be allowed to speak
and be heard, imagine
compassion – I cannot
even remember it.
Interest, attention
exotic by now
to me.
