2016/insure

They would insure us
if the house was
built in 1945,
and bolted to its foundation,
if I could prove when
the wiring was done
and the plumbing,
if we weren’t in a
a fire zone,
and I were a teacher,
when the earthquake
retrofit is complete,
just as soon as
we prove this
is in no way
a reciprocal relationship,
that we will pay
on time,
while they continue
to collect,
and we can assure/insure
we will never
make a claim
on what it is they
are dedicated to protect.
