(rainy)

A rainy morning
in early March.
I go out in my
long johns
to check yesterday’s
planting, finished
after dark –
no, halted by
dark.
Completion remains
in front of me.
I have allowed
yellow, at least
temporarily,
into my pink
& purple yard.
The wild onions
from a woman
down the road.
Which reach out
and sway with
their fragile blooms.
One of my favorite
floral dances.
It will be in
harmony with
the garlic
I intend to plant,
the row of English
lavender.
And not at odds
with the rosemary
and iris.
