2000/cavity
Waking up I perceive
my body cavity
as an empty space.
Hollow like a canoe.
Shaped from a log.
I could let go,
and drift down stream.
Wait to see where I wake up.
This emptiness would seem to say
it’s time to start again.
To haul myself ashore,
escape into the tangled thicket
where no one knows the path
but me.
