2004/indecisive

An indecisive morning
sunny, cloudy, windy.
I change clothes
and curtains.
Even the birds are
discombobulated.
They have been
upset all week.
Fire department helicopters
doing practice runs
over the lake.
Sirens blasting
on and off.
The orioles dive
into the pepper tree
for cover.
The cat paces and howls.
At first I thought
they were searching
for a criminal.
But I was wrong,
at least uninformed.
Uncertainty
has plagued
the week,
the life.
