2006/inside
There is,
of course,
the time
that’s delicious
to live inside.
Like now,
early morning
before the sun’s
too high,
a wisp of
breeze
brushing
my arms,
the birds calm
from their early
morning clatter.
Having fed
and brought a morsel
back to the nest.
Perhaps fluffed
the place up
a bit,
as I have
before work.
Bed made,
dishes washed,
the delicates
out to dry,
the day’s food
cooking on the
stove.
This is the time
I love to
live inside,
one bud
on the fucshia
outside the door
has opened.
The sun shines
through the
petals of the
rose on my desk.
Time.
Time is good.
