At the Italian vegetarian pizzeria
the young first‑timers, paired
in perfect moth‑tone gray,
see only each other.  Do not
catch the sunlight streamed
through blood‑drenched windows,
do not see the body slumped
beneath the bushes,
nor smell its stench.
