I make a page
for the poem
to come.
I date it at the
top, expectantly.
I don’t know
what it will be,
even if I have
a line or too,
which I usually do,
I can’t tell
where they intend
on going.
Read your work
out loud, a famous
poet said.
I’ve always practiced
this, and write my
poems out loud
as well.
But it’s always good
to know, that what
you’re doing, someone
else has done,
especially someone
who counted,
who someone listened to.
