2001/kitty

I have a kitty cat,
his name is Evander.
He has a nip gone from his ear.
He meows real loud at the door
so I will hear.

He has a door for coming in
and one for going out.
And never the twain shall meet.
He’ll out last you if you get it wrong,
stand his ground ’til you beat feet.

He licks his paw, then rubs his head,
curls close in a ball to sleep.
In the middle of my new down comforter,
burying himself in deep.
