2001/hisown

The sales clerk
on his break
brings his own
music,
so he doesn’t have
to listen to what’s
playing in the store.
So much stuff to
unload,
laptop, CD player,
phone,
book and file.
I hear zippers –
the snap and pull
of velcro,
the click of keys,
CD’s popping
in and out.
