2001/washer

7 a.m.
Washer running.
Oatmeal cooking.
Day before our
anniversary,
I have to do the
math to know
which one,
though it has
not been that
long.
Six years.
My record,
and certainly yours.
We’re both good
for five year cycles,
the odds were not
with us.
And, as I have said
too many times,
it has not been easy,
nor is the outcome
guaranteed.
