(alcove)

In the socail
sciences alcove,
where I have
just been joined
by a woman reading
Minding Her Business.
They say we are
the new entrepreneurs
I think we always
were,
but it used to be
men took our ideas
as their own.
Not that they don’t
still.
We try to protect
ourselves
& they don’t see why.
Accuse us of being
competitors not partners.
In our life
they are not goin
to get it.
We don’t have
enought time left
for them to see.
I was the transitional
generation,
who never got any
place,
but got up each day
to traverse the same
gound again.
In my age group
the men had
not yet mutated
to have ears.
They could not
hear, if
they heard
would not
remember,
so there was no
progress.
Never a gain,
just the same
pain,
the landing pad
we fell back to
again & again.
