(hangsout)

Desire hangs out,
looking to see
what it can
get.
Lurking on every
corner intown.
But when it
has the object
toward which it
was directed
be it thing
or person,
it turns its
head to see
what’s next.
We think it was
the wrong size
or shape
or color.
But that is
just what desire
does.
It watns.
And something
else has to kick
in to pick the new
shirt up,
or return in
for the proper size.
Some other force
cares for & maintains.
It’s just our skills
there are under
developed,
delayed
because we’ve
given our l ives
over to only desire.
Desire is just
an instigator,
a provocateur.
It was never
meant to be
the whole thing.
