2007/cornered

Evander surveys life in the new house
from his private place
behind the Christmas tree,
cornered by windows.
Who knows if it’s an especially good spot
because of shelter and view,
or just because it’s new.
But he has quite a bit to say about it,
talking to the birds which are there –
at least in his mind.
